Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No contact information is required for rate comparisons. Just provide your gender, birth date, health status, tobacco history, desired coverage amount, and preferred term—roughly five details that take about a minute to input. Personal details like your name, address, and full health history are only requested when you decide to submit an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

The rates displayed are what each carrier offers for the rate class you selected—they're estimates for comparison purposes only. Your actual premium may differ once the carrier's underwriting department evaluates your full application and confirms your risk category, which could be better, worse, or unchanged. These quotes carry no guarantee and do not constitute an insurance offer.

What happens when I click Apply?

Selecting a carrier takes you to a secure application where your information is pre-populated based on what you've already told us. You'll enter your name and complete additional details the underwriting team needs. The entire process runs on the carriers' encrypted platform through Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129). You can work on the application at your own pace and return to finish when ready, then electronically sign when satisfied.

Will I need a medical exam?

Whether you'll need an exam depends on the specific carrier, the benefit amount you're requesting, and how you answered the health questions. Many carriers have now adopted fast-track evaluation that skips the exam for qualified applicants—each quoted rate on this site indicates whether an exam is required, might be requested, or isn't needed for that product.

Is a longer term better?

The right term length matches how long your household would struggle financially without your income. That might mean a mortgage still owed, children who aren't independent yet, or business debt. Choosing a longer term means higher monthly payments but a locked rate for more years. The comparison tool lets you see side-by-side costs for 10-, 15-, 20-, 25-, and 30-year periods so you can decide what works for your situation.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The rate tool itself doesn't capture your contact information, and we don't rent, sell, or trade visitor data. Our traffic measurement system is cookie-free and doesn't use fingerprinting. For a detailed explanation of what we collect and who has access to it, visit our privacy policy.
