No-exam life insurance

Who can get fast-track approval, how the process works, and what happens if you don't fit the criteria.

Several carriers have adopted accelerated underwriting: within specified age and amount ranges, the company makes decisions from your application, pharmacy records, driving history and third-party data, skipping the exam. You might get a decision within hours. Every quoted product here shows whether an exam is required, may be required, or is waived.

What it changes

No exam doesn't mean no underwriting—the carrier still confirms your answers against their records. A policy issued based on inaccurate information can be challenged within two years of issue. The carrier might request an exam or lab work if their data hunt uncovers red flags; at that stage you decide whether to move forward.

Who tends to qualify

Candidates are usually under age 60, within the carrier's fast-track amount cap, with no serious health events and no tobacco consumption in the past 12 months or longer. Recent medical appointments with lab results may be acceptable in place of an exam with some carriers.

Should one be required, a paramedical technician will typically spend 20 to 30 minutes with you at a location of your choice in the Daly City region, at no charge. If you're in good health, the exam results often upgrade your rate tier, making it a beneficial step rather than a hindrance.
